Things have gone from bad to worse for Manchester United who were hammered 3-0 by Tottenham Hotspurs in Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

While Erik Ten Hag may have been feeling the pressure heading into the encounter, there's now no doubt that his position is becoming more untenable from fixture to fixture.

In what could only be described as a mauling, Spurs came racing out of the traps with a Micky van de Ven cracker putting them ahead after just two minutes.

Things went from bad to worse for Manchester when Bruno Fernandes was controversially sent off for a trip on Maddison. Reduced to ten men, it wasn't long before Spurs took advantage again with Dejan Kulusevski doubling their lead in the 47th minute, before Dominic Salanke sealed the deal with a third goal before the clock hit eighty.

Jamie Redknapp slams Erik Ten Hag

Speaking on Sky Sports Super Sunday after today's thumping, Jamie Redknapp was left bewildered with Manchester United's performances. Not only was he unsure as to where Erik Ten Hag could go from here, but the former Spurs star was shocked by the lack of effort:

You almost feel sorry for the manager, he looks completely out of his depth. He looks like he is struggling to motivate his team.

You asked if Ange (Postecoglu) was under pressure. If you are under pressure as a manager this is the place you want to come, because you get all your confidence back. If you look at Tottenham today it was so easy for them...616 Million pounds he's spent (Ten Hag), he's been here two years, they're going backwards, he's going backwards.

He can't complain anymore, he's got his back four in place, he's got all the players at his disposal, there's no excuses.

They are rock bottom right now, I just don't see where he can go from here. They are as bad as I've seen a United side. It's embarrassing because a club of this stature shouldn't be producing performances like that.

Christian Eriksen said during the week...they don't want it enough, that can never happen, you can get beaten, you can always have moments where a team does you a bit of skill or a bit of quality but you can't get outworked, and that was the most damning thing for me.

Manchester United now fall to twelfth in the Premier League standings having won just one of their last five league outings.

While the future of Erik Ten Hag may still be uncertain, a half-empty Old Trafford in injury time certainly didn't paint a positive picture for the embattled manager.
