There was a controversial end to this afternoon's Premier League clash between Bournemouth and Newcastle United at the Vitality Stadium, with the hosts having a last gasp goal controversially ruled out via VAR as the match finished in a 1-1 draw.
It was an entertaining game, with both sides pushing for the winner in the closing stages. Marcus Tavernier gave Bournemouth the lead during the first half, with Anthony Gordon going on to draw Newcastle level with 15 minutes still to play.
While the visitors looked more likely to go and get the winner, it was Bournemouth that looked as though they had grabbed it. Dango Ouattara bundled the ball into the net from a corner, and while the goal was initially awarded, it was later chalked off by VAR due to a handball.

It certainly looked like a very harsh decision, with the ball possibly coming off Ouattara's shoulder.

I don't think it's clear enough, you can feel the manager's pain.
It looked like a shoulder to me. There isn't anything that's conclusive. This is where the grey area is between the arm and the shoulder, they use as a guideline where the shirt sleeve ends and starts.
That looks more like shoulder to me, there isn't anything on the VAR that makes that conclusive. I would be so disappointed.
None of the Newcastle players complained either. It just didn't feel like it deserved that intervention. It hit him high up on his shoulder here.
I feel their pain, it's a really disappointing one for them.
It certainly did not seem clear that this was a handball, meaning the goal probably should have stood.
That will be of little consolation to Bournemouth, who have missed out on a potentially valuable victory as a result of the decision.
