Football pundits are often criticized by fans of every team. Usually it's for supposed 'bias' or for shitting yourself on the pitch. But more often than not it's for the outright stupidity of some of their statements.
If you sit down to watch a live game on Sky Sports or BT you usually get a mixed bag when it comes to punditry. There's the brilliance of Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher. You could have the deep analysis by Howard Webb on literally every refereeing decision. Or the odd nonsensical ramblings of Robbie Savage.
But if you're a regular to Sky's coverage you'll be used to some of the ridiculous comments by Jamie Redknapp.
Like that time he gave us clarity on the areas of the pitch.
Tonight, however, he gave us a quote for the ages.
Sitting alongside Souness on punditry duty for the evening kick off between Southampton and Chelsea, some of Redknapp's pre-game analysis focused on Victor Moses. The ex-Liverpool midfielder was impressed by how Moses has been playing under Antonio Conte.
Which is fair enough. It is always good for the English to get excited about a young talent. But there's just two problems.
Victor Moses turns 26 in December. He's no spring chicken.
Secondly, Victor Moses was born in and has represented Nigeria.
24 times.
Fair enough, the winger did play under age for England, but he's played at a World Cup and has an African Cup of Nations medal in his back pocket from 2013 with the Super Eagles - further proof that Redknapp doesn't really do his research.
Maybe stick to the corner flags, Jamie.
