Jamie Carragher has donated the generous sum of £11,000 to the Sean Cox Rehabilitation Trust.
The Liverpool Echo reports that Carragher did so following a fundraising night in aid of the Meathman. Carragher was in attendance at an event in Liverpool's Baltic Triangle organised by his 23 Foundation and BOSS Night. £11,000 was raised by the event, a figure which was matched by the former Liverpool defender.
"It was a great night, but the important thing is we are doing all we can to help Sean Cox and his family," said Carragher.
What happened before the Roma game, it could have happened to absolutely anyone. It happened in tragic circumstances. We want to do our bit to help.
Sean Cox suffered life-changing injuries after being attacked before the Champions League semi-final first leg between Liverpool and Roma last April.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that a fundraising match for the trust, between a Mick McCarthy managed Ireland XI and a Liverpool Legends side, will take place at the Aviva Stadium on April 12th.
