Late on Monday night, news broke that Raheem Sterling would for a second time in recent weeks tell Brendan Rodgers that he wants out of Anfield. It happened while Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville were doing their usual post-match analysis on Sky.
Carragher was asked for his reaction to the news by Ed Chamberlain. The former Liverpool player prefaced his take by saying that in his eyes Sterling is a great kid who loves football and if there is one thing that he needs to change, it is not his club but his agent.
He went on to say that he believes Liverpool is the best place for Sterling's football development. Carragher also questioned what were the player's motivations in attempting to force the move saying that if he simply wants to win trophies then why did he not perform in the FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa or in the Champions League this season.
You can really hear the irritation in Carragher's voice about the whole situation.
