Those of us who tuned in to Friday Night Football to watch Bournemouth vs Brighton were promised the Sky Sports football take on the inexplicably popular 'Carpool Karaoke' concept made famous by James Corden.
There's something people really enjoy in watching celebrities continue to be surprised that Corden isn't absolutely awful at singing, because the views on each video fly into the millions with ease, but how would a pair of footballers get on in the same situation?
Luckily, when Jamie Carragher knocked on Jermaine Defoe's door the England international just happened to be mic'd up with several Go Pro cameras placed carefully in his car, so we could find out.
Unfortunately, the segment did not live up to it's promise as Defoe was too embarrassed to sing along to James Arthur, while Carragher - to his credit - gave it a bash despite not knowing the words but ended up sounding like a distressed animal groaning in pain.
Shocking. Just shocking.
If you're going to agree to it, if you're going to out yourself as an X-Factor fan, you've got to own it. Have to say we're disappointed with a veteran like Defoe there. His old strike partner Peter Crouch needs to teach him a few lessons regarding how to have a laugh at yourself.
We don't expect Jamie Carragher karaoke, sorry, 'Carrapool Karaoke' to be a recurring feature.
