Jamie Carragher has done a few Monday Night Football specials analysing the issues with Erik ten Hag's Man United side, and following their 3-0 defeat to Tottenham last weekend, there was loads to pick through.
In the past Carragher has identified United's midfield as a source of weakness, and highlighted players like Casemiro and Kobe Mainoo.
However, on this occasion, it is The Red Devil's £42m summer signing Matthijs de Ligt that is circled as the problem player.
Using the big screen in the Sky Sports studio, Carragher analysed several clips of the defender looking out of his depth against Spurs.

"I've noticed this a little bit with De Ligt and a lot of centre-backs. I don't understand why they don't fill the space and come over - I see this so much.
"The striker behind him has got nothing to do with him. That is [Lisandro] Martinez's job. If De Ligt goes over, Martinez comes across.
"Now again he's actually looking over his shoulder here - forget that! Forget it, get here [to the right-hand side]. It was a brilliant run, it was amazing, but van de Ven runs because he sees the space.
"Again I want to go to De Ligt - Now they're locked in here so you've got a front three of Tottenham locking the back four in.
'There's two men versus one player there. De Ligt should already be over here [further right] and [Noussair] Mazraoui should be in this position here [also further right].
"If we run it on, just look at it. De Ligt who comes flying across, goes flying into the challenge - very similar to a challenge he put in against I think Luis Diaz for Liverpool - because he comes from a starting position."
Lots of problems structurally for #ManUnited but the positional sense of De Ligt causes them even more!#MNF

In summary, Carragher has not been one bit impressed with the Dutch defender, and the fact that he cost so much money wasn't lost on the Liverpool legend either.
"Two massive chances and the goal, de Ligt, a player they brought in for huge money, is completely out of position all the time so he ends up having to go flying into challenge and then you leave yourself in a situation where you can get yellow cards and red cards."
With Champions League side Aston Villa waiting in the wings for United this Sunday, Erik ten Hag's uphill battle to keep his job looks like it is getting steeper and steeper.
Marco van Basten Rips Into Man United's New Midfielder
The new defender isn't the only United signing that has come under criticism after the club's poor start to the season as Dutch legend Marco van Basten has also pointed the finger of blame.
Speaking to Ziggo Sport, the football icon was particularly disgusted with midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
"I saw a new player, Ugarte, or something like that. Fifty million euros! Then I think: how can he walk around like that? It’s crazy how much money he spent on players who aren’t good.
“Just no top players [at Manchester United]. [Marcus] Rashford doesn’t hit a pepper nut anymore. [Bruno] Fernandes is a good player, [Andre] Onana is a decent keeper. For the rest, there are no guys about whom you can say 'they are strong players'.
"Casemiro is passé. Name any name. That right winger, [Alejandro] Garnacho, is a decent player but not a key player. There are no players others can cling to."
It appears that everyone is lining up to take shots at United right now, and unless they start getting results on the pitch very soon, it is only going to get worse.
