It's hardly a surprise that Jamie Carragher is not Mario Balotelli's biggest fan. The Liverpool legend made a career out of passion. While that may be ignoring some of his ability, there's no doubt that his mentality had a large part to play in his success.
You probably can't say the same for Balotelli. We're constantly told he has the ability but you're more like to see a big set of pearly white teeth on a hen. Whether that is ever likely to change is up for debate but it's clear it won't be at Liverpool.
If his move last summer was his last chance then his latest move is his very last chance. He's heading back to AC Milan and judging by his comments on Monday night football, Carragher is rather pleased to see the back of him.
The Balotelli one was a major mistake from the whole club, not just Brendan Rodgers but the transfer committee in bringing him in.
The quicker he is moved on [the better]. They have Benteke and Sturridge coming back. I still can't believe that they signed him. He hasn't worked out and he has to move on.
He is kidding some coaches if he gets a move to AC Milan.
Thankfully for Liverpool fans, it's no longer a case of 'if'. Balotelli has seemingly passed his medical and is looking very happy to be back in a Rossoneri shirt, even if it is only on loan.
That's all well and good but was that a bit of a retrospective spoof from the Liverpool legend?
Carragher, for his part, was having none of it.
Please find me that quote & where it's from I must've been drunk if I said it!! https://t.co/0sGb6pRZAi

But then the man himself, Deluded Brendan, was on hand to give Jamie a nice little reminder and sure enough he did say that, in comparison to Ross McCormack, Balotelli was a bargain.

Thanks Brendan! A bargain compared to Ross McCormack which I think is a fair comment!! https://t.co/mZiXUvBnLR

Nicely played, Brendan.
