James McClean popped up with two vital goals tonight as the Republic of Ireland as they managed to beat Moldova by 3 goals to 1 in a tough World Cup qualifier.
Ireland opened the scoring with Shane Long scoring after a brilliant through ball from Wes Hoolahan but conceded a nightmare equaliser after a Shane Duffy error and proceeded to have a woeful second half - until a lucky break from a James McCarthy shot allowed McClean to put Ireland a goal ahead.
Then a bit of magic from Hoolahan and a cross from captain Seamus Coleman allowed McClean to seal the tie.
