James McClean has been banned from driving for six months. The judgement was handed down to the Ireland and West Brom winger after he had previously been forced to appear before magistrates last December on an unrelated driving offence.
Back then, McClean was given penalty points for failing to provide information regarding the identity of the driver of a Range Rover. That incident meant that the Ireland international had six points on his licence ahead of yesterday's hearing.
As a result, North Staffordshire Justice Centre chose to ban McClean from driving in relation to the latest incident, of which no details have been made public.
On top of the driving ban, the 26 year old, who was represented in court by his solicitor, was fined £400 as well as having to pay costs of £85 and a £40 victim surcharge.
McClean had previously been banned from driving for three months by Antrim Magistrate’s Court in 2013 after being caught speeding without a full driving licence.
