Since joining West Bromwich Albion from Wigan Athletic in 2015, Ireland's James McClean has never really settled as he would have hoped.

A relatively frequent presence off the bench under Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew this season, ninety-minutes have been somewhat more difficult to come by for RTÉ Irish Sportsperson of the year 2017.

With the appointment of Pardew, rumours have abounded regarding whether or not McClean has become persona non grata at the Hawthorns.

Increased speculation that Albion are planning a big money move for Watford's Tory Deeney has in turn added to such rumours; a loan spell with Derby County one move that has been talked about by Albion fans.

If it is to be believed that Derby County had made moves toward acquiring the Derry man, it has also been suggested that Pardew had no thoughts to comply.

However, as much as many Derby fans seemed pleased with the prospect of bringing the Premier League winger in, some West Brom fans were equally keen to see him leave.

Never one to shy away from a dig of any kind, McClean was quick to the draw on his reply.

Reminding those who may doubt him that he has actually done alright out of harnessing his talents thus far, McClean was getting a lot of love for his response.
