It looks like Irish international James McClean is set to leave West Brom in favour of Gary Rowett's Stoke City according to multiple reports including RTE and the Irish Mirror.
McClean is entering the final year of his contract at the Hawthorns and the 29-year-old has failed to secure a regular starting berth during his stint at the club.
West Brom were reported to have had rejected a £4 million bid from the Potters earlier this month but it looks like Gary Rowett will get his man, with a fee around the region of £5 million as per BBC Sport.
McClean signed for West Brom from Wigan Athletic three years ago for £1.5 million.
Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has previously revealed that Rowett tried to sign the winger when he managed Derby:
When he was at Derby, he tried to buy him in January. For one reason or another, it didn’t materialise. James would feel that this is a chance with a manager who will give him that opportunity to play more matches. So I’m sure he’s in favour of that.
McClean made 111 appearances for the Baggies during his three seasons at the club, scoring five goals.
