James McClean's acts of charity close to home have captured attention in recent months. Earlier this year, he offered to pay for the treatment of a sick boy from Derry, and that is just one example of the many times he has dipped his hand into his pocket to help those who are in need.
The Sun are today reporting another such example. McClean heard of the struggle of a woman known only as Lisa, who is currently homeless and pregnant with twins. Using his wife's Facebook page, he got in touch with volunteers raising money for Lisa to say that he would buy her a mobile home to provide a bit of shelter. In the message, he sent an advertisement for a mobile home worth £1,750, along with a message to say that he would buy it.
Here's the message:
Look I know it ain’t much and even if it’s a temporary until a house is found but being a father myself no babies should live homeless so I would be willing to purchase this caravan for them and keep them out of the cold.
Neil Charlick is the volunteer to whom McClean sent the message:
It’s very good of him and so very generous. We’ll be working out the best way forward, but either way, it’s very nice of James.
