I'm furious. Pure malicious intent from McCarthy. pic.twitter.com/vV5ZVR67Ok

West Ham announced today that Dimitri Payet could be out of action for up to three months due to an ankle injury sustained during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Everton.
Payet - who has been one of the Premier League's best summer signings - has five goals along with three assists to his name this season.
The tackle which caused the injury came from Ireland international James McCarthy. Though it may have been exacerbated by Payet not actually being substituted until five minutes into the second half.
McCarthy received a yellow card at the time and plenty of heat on Twitter since.
McCarthy's tackle on Payet was a filthy and cynical as they come and it looks like job done. He should have walked.

Sadly payet will be out for about 3 months! Huge miss for the team. How the Everton player didn't get sent off amazes me!! #COYI

Watch and decide for yourselves. Can a tackle like that be acceptable? https://t.co/LOyf6nLaip

This is the last you'll see of Dimitri Payet for three months. Good news James McCarthy will play next game though.. https://t.co/3NmQkXwvvy
