Ireland and Celtic midfielder James McCarthy is reportedly the subject of interest from two MLS clubs.
90min.com reports that with the MLS transfer window opening next month, Houston Dynamo and Colorado Rapids are both eyeing up the 32-year-old.
McCarthy joined Celtic in the summer of 2021 on a four-year deal during then newly appointed manager Ange Postecoglou's first transfer window.
He arrived at the Scottish side on a free transfer after leaving Crystal Palace. The Glasgow-born player, who has 42 caps for Ireland, had spent two years at the London club prior to the move, and six at Everton before that.
However, McCarthy made just 22 appearances for the club in his first season. This season has seen him make even fewer. He has made five appearances, all as a substitute, totalling 62 minutes on the pitch.
Sky Sports reported earlier this month that Celtic are open to offers for McCarthy along with Liam Scales, who spent the season on loan at Aberdeen.
However, with Ange Postecoglou strongly linked with a move to Spurs, McCarthy may wish to bide his time before deciding on whether his future is at Celtic or somewhere else.
16 games in to their season Colorado Rapids find themselves bottom of the Western Conference while Houston Dynamo are ninth after playing 14 games.
