With the popularity of darts seemingly increasing every year, it is no surprise to see that it has started to slowly infiltrate the world of football. Luke Littler's run to the PDC World Championship final certainly caught the attentions of quite a few people in the sport.
Not only was the 16-year old posing for pictures with the likes of Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale, and James Maddison, but he also received messages of support from some big names associated with his favourite club in Manchester United. The youngster was also invited to attend games at Old Trafford, The Emirates, and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
One of the players mentioned above was also in attendance at last night's final, reportedly having a sign confiscated by staff at Alexandra Palace.

James Maddison has sign confiscated at darts final
James Maddison is a massive darts fan, with the Spurs midfielder even deriving his trademark celebration from the sport.
He was always likely to pop up at Ally Pally for last night's final, although his attempt to poke fun at Arsenal fans did lead to a sign being taken off him.
When the fans in the venue spotted the Spurs man, they started to sing the well known 'Tottenham get battered chant'.
I assume the Ally Pally crowd have just spotted James Maddison watching on! 👀

That is a chant you often hear at the venue even when there are no Spurs players in attendance.
Maddison would then respond by cheekily hoisting a sign that read 'North London is white, COYS [Come On You Spurs]'.

However, it seems that he was not in possession of the sign for long.
As reported by the Daily Star, staff at Alexandra Palace would soon confiscate the sign from the England international.
That move was likely down to the PDC's rules surrounding the expression of football fandom at their events. According to their official website 'no football colours will be allowed into the venue' at any of their tournaments.
On this occasion, the rule seemingly extended to signs as well.
This rule is no doubt in place to avoid any confrontation between rivals groups of supporters, something that would certainly put a dampener on the event. In any case, James Maddison seemed to take the gentle ribbing from the darts fans pretty well.
All in good fun.
