Lyon's Irish centre-back Jake O'Brien has been attracting the interest of clubs from Serie A, the Bundesliga, and the Premier League.
As reported in the Express, Everton are now keen on the Cork man, and see him as a potential replacement for Jarrad Branthwaite, who has been linked with both Real Madrid and Spurs.
O'Brien has been one of the feel good Irish football stories of the season, after making a fantastic start to life in Ligue 1, following his move from Crystal Palace in August.
Jake O'Brien Has Made A Phenomenal Start To His Career In France
He has made 14 appearances so far for his new club, chipping in with three goals, and was named as their player of the month for December.
He will also be expecting a call-up to the Ireland senior squad for their March friendlies against Belgium and Switzerland, and has already represented the U21s.

O'Brien, who became the first Irishman to play in Ligue 1 in 23 years, will most certainly be eyeing a move to the Premier League at some stage of his career, and an on-the-up cub such as Everton, under the tutelage of Sean Dyche, would be a shrewd move.
However, Lyon do not want to offload the defender this January, and clubs may have to wait until the summer for another go at prising him away from France.
