23-year-old Cavan man Jake Doyle-Hayes enjoyed a dream afternoon on Saturday, with his two brilliant goals the difference in Hibs' 2-0 win over Ross County.

As though the day couldn't have gotten any better, Doyle-Hayes did it all in front of a massive group of his friends, including his fiancée, who had travelled over from Cavan to see him play.

Hibs: Jake Doyle-Hayes gives MOTM performance in front of Irish friends

Jake Doyle-Hayes has been at Hibernian since June, but had yet to mark a goal for the club ahead of Saturday's home game against Ross County.

The clash with County was pivotal for Hibs season, as they seek to secure European qualification for next year. They are locked in an extraordinary six-way battle for fourth place, with just three points separating them, Dundee United, Motherwell, St. Mirren, Aberdeen, and Livingston.

Doyle-Hayes popped up with two super goals to make the difference on the day, as Hibs claimed an essential win and put themselves at the top of the race for Europa Conference League football.

It got even better for Jake Doyle-Hayes. Doyle-Hayes hails from the Cavan town of Ballyjamesduff and, for Saturday's game, a group of his friends from the town made the journey to Edinburgh to show their support.

Castlerahan GAA, the local club of Doyle-Hayes' home town, shared a brilliant photo in the aftermath of the game of the Hibs star with his group of personal supporters.

We particularly admire Doyle-Hayes' commitment to the full-kit - flip-flops combination.

The Irishman spoke to Hibs TV to accept his well-deserved man-of-the-match award, and revealed just how many of his friends had travelled over - before asserting that they would indeed be enjoying a "quiet night" on Saturday.

My fiancée was in the stand and 27 of my mates were over from Ireland. You can't ask for anything better. Probably a quiet one tonight!

If there was ever a weekend you could forgive Doyle-Hayes a night out, this was probably it. It's terrific to see the Cavan man in such great form, and more performances like this one for Hibs are sure to peak the attention of Ireland manager Stephen Kenny.
