Yesterday's 3-0 loss in the League Cup final was just the latest in a string of low moments for Arsenal fans. Recent history has not been kind to them and with the side now ten points off the top four, their immediate future does not look much better.
While Pep Guardiola's side was collecting their first piece of silverware, criticism was forthcoming for Arsene Wenger and certain Arsenal players. One of whom was Jack Wilshere. Gary Neville is just the latest pundit to criticise the midfielder, although last week Roy Keane also called him the 'most overrated player on the planet.’
During the game there was some controversy after City midfielder Fernandinho escaped a red card while Leroy Sane was not ruled out as offside for his side's second goal. Tonight Wilshere has responded to yesterday's defeat, while also addressing the criticism and referee decisions.
The series of games could prove to be crucial for Arsenal, as they travel to Brighton this weekend before facing AC Milan. Wilshere's best option now may be to prove himself over the course of those games.
