It was inevitable really. Jack Grealish would produce a breakout performance and grab the attention of the English sporting public. Cue the same headlines from the English media that we were producing over here a year ago.
The Daily Mail have already published a 'Jack Grealish set for international tug-of war' article this morning. And they're not the only ones whose interest has been piqued.
Grealish's performance against Liverpool yesterday was excellent. As many pointed out, the difference between him and another golden boy, Raheem Sterling, was like striking. Grealish took the game to Liverpool, while Sterling wilted in the Wembley pressure cooker.
That kind of performance gets you noticed and for those who weren't aware of Grealish's ability already, they certainly are now. Given that neither Ireland nor England are particularly blessed with good young talent, England fans have been quick to get on board with the of conversation we've been having for the past couple of years.
Irish fans will hate me for saying it - but England should make big effort to get Jack Grealish on board.

Hope England secure Jack Grealish just to piss off the Irish.

Roy Hodgson should be ringing Jack Grealish as I type, if England lose that talent I will be furious.

Hope Grealish choses England , born in England from English parents. The FA must not screw this up

Hope Jack Grealish gets an England call-up and cap soon. We don’t want another Ryan Giggs situation.

Grealish old tweets are a lot about the England set up, I know he's a part of the Ireland youth team but I'd love to see him convert.

Don't we all just love a good tug-of-war? No, we don't but don't expect this one to go away anytime soon, particularly with Tim Sherwood set to give Grealish a lot more playing time between now and the end of the season.
