A rare interview has been dug up of former Ireland manager Jack Charlton. The interview on Kenny Live hosted by Pat Kenny was originally broadcast around 17 years ago, according to the video description on YouTube. Charlton retired from management in 1996 after overseeing the Irish soccer team's most successful period in their history, in which they made it to two World Cup finals, in Italy 1990 and USa 1994.
Charlton made the appearance to support the launch of his aptly titled autobiography, Jack Charlton: The Autobiography. He also discusses his relationship with his brother, former England international Bobby Charlton and reminisces about his storied career as Ireland boss.
Irish fans can look back at the interview with rose-tinted glasses, as the 20th anniversary of USA 94 is celebrated this year.
