Jack Byrne is one of the names you will most commonly hear if you ask Irish football fans who they think are the brightest young talents for the future of the national team.
It's easy to see why, as the Patrick Viera reckons Byrne is destined for a big future, and there have been glowing reviews from some of his performances for Manchester City's Elite Development Squad. Currently on loan at SC Cambuur in the Eredivisie, Byrne has been getting some first team experience in a competitive league ahead of meeting up with the Irish U21 squad, and the youngster has today given an interview ahead of the U21s clash with Lithuania on Friday, where he has hit out at criticism of Ireland's young talent.
Ireland U21s face Lithuania tomorrow at RSC Waterford (5.45pm). Manchester City midfielder Jack Byrne believes its another great chance to show the public that Ireland does have top young talent coming through! It's live on Setanta Ireland too.

People don't give Ireland credit at the moment, we've got some good technical players that can compete on that level, people need to open their eyes and realise that. There's enough people slating Irish football at the moment, if they opened their eyes and looked, there actually are some good players playing at clubs in England and making a name for themselves.
And he's not wrong to a certain extent, as we saw last week that an Irish youngster is now training with the first team at Arsenal, and the likes of Zachary Elbouzedi tipped for success at West Brom, hopefully we can see Irish talent come through at some Premeir League clubs.
