Jack Byrne looks like he's finally about to get some badly needed first team football. After a frustrating year which saw a disappointing spell on loan at Blackburn and then a permanent move to Wigan - both of which failed to see the Dubliner flourish -
Byrne went on loan to Oldham late last month.
In four games so far for the League One side, Byrne has scored twice. One of those came last night, along with an assist, as Oldham beat Bristol Rovers 3-2.
It was a good game for Irish players beyond Byrne. Eoin Doyle, on loan at Oldham from Preston, scored an 88th minute winner. Galway man Rory Gaffney got one of Bristol's goals.
Get in there what a win fans where fucking top of the range buzzing to score amazing what you can do when you close your eyes and swing😂😂⚪️🔵

Byrne's goal came shortly after half-time when he picked the ball up in midfield and fired a super strike from distance past Adam Smith in the Bristol goal.
