Don't even bother opening the summer transfer window this year, the arse has well and truly been lost already.
English publication Express.co.uk have earned themselves a reputation over the years for some tenuous transfer news, but they published an article today which takes the cake.
According to "reports in Turkey", Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has held talks with Fenerbache.
No, we aren't buying it either, but that is apparently the case according to reports in Turkey.
However in recent weeks, the 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Emirates, with former club Madrid and Barcelona both showing an interest in the German.
And now Turkish outlet Hurriyet claim Ozil has now held talks with Fenerbahce chiefs over a potential transfer.
The midfielder has just over two years of his current £130,000-a-week contract to run with Arsenal, and the club are desperate to tie him down to a new deal in the summer.
However Ozil has made no secret of his desire to represent Fenerbahce.
He told Sabah last July: "In the future I want to wear a Fenerbahce shirt. It would be an honour. Everyone knows I am a Fenerbahce fan."
April Fools Day was last Friday...
It's clear that the German international does want to play for Fenerbache one day, but it will surely be in his late 30s like every other big name player to make a move to the utterly terrifying Turkish league.
Perhaps we've fallen for some elaborate joke, but it is April and Mesut Ozil is being linked with a move from Arsenal to Fenerbache. This is the world we live in now.
