It's Looking Increasingly Likely That Mario Balotelli Will Be Leaving Liverpool

Mario Balotelli is one of three senior Liverpool players who have been forced to train away from the first team as Brendan Rodgers looks to trim the deadwood from his squad.

While the Liverpool boss has been coy on the Italian's future so far this summer, various reports in the UK media are now reporting that the 24 year old has been told in no uncertain terms that he has no future at Anfield.

Balotelli, along with Fabio Borini and Jose Enrique are currently training separately from the first team squad while Rickie Lambert, who is still part of the senior squad, is on the verge of a £3 million move to West Brom.

With the signings of Roberto Firmino, Christian Benteke and Danny Ings it was clear that Liverpool's strikeforce was going to face a serious overhaul this summer. First on the chopping block was always likely to be Balotelli and now it seems like plans are afoot to edge him out through the exit door.

The club are determined to recoup £10 million (or €10 million depending on who you believe) of the £16 million that they paid for him last summer. Sampdoria currently look like the most likely destination with their president confirming earlier this week that they were interested but only if Liverpool offer 'a discount' on their asking price.

Bologna have also been credited with an interest in Balotelli but regardless of who they eventually manage to flog him to, it's now clear that Liverpool are doing everything they can to get him out of Anfield before the start of the new season.
