If England can sort out international clearance this week, Jack Grealish will be named in Roy Hodgson's squad to face Estonia and Lithuania. That's according to various reports in the UK this morning and although it's bad news for Ireland, at least it seems this saga is finally coming to an end.
According to the Daily Express, Grealish eventually made up his mind after being convinced that he has a greater chance to play in international tournaments with England. That reported decision has now put the wheels in motion with England seeking clearance from FIFA to allow Grealish's registration to be transferred from Ireland to England.
If that does come through in time, the Aston Villa midfielder will be named in Hodgson's final Euro qualifying squad on Thursday. The England boss has already confirmed that he will look to use those games to take a look at the fringe players in his squad and now it seems Grealish can be added to to that list of players hoping to break into Hodgson's squad for Euro 2016.
Having said that, there's every reason to be a bit sceptical of the reports coming out of England, not least this from the Irish Sun's Neil O'Riordan.
If #JackGrealish is in England squad next week it will be by some distance the quickest Fifa have ever processed an international switch.

Ultimately, we've had reports like this before only for the Grealish camp to string us out a bit longer but it does now seem that we've reached an end with all this and we can look to the future. Did we mention that Dan Crowley chap is a decent player.
