One the transfer sagas of the summer looks to be coming to an end as reports suggest Manchester United target Sergio Ramos won't be making the move to Old Trafford this summer.
A new centre-half has been a priority for Louis Van Gaal with the Real Madrid defender identified as his number one target. However the Daily Mirror report that the Spanish World Cup winner will now sign at new contract at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was originally unwilling to meet Ramos' £260,000 per week wage demands but has now made the 29-year-old a satisfactory offer.
The future of Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is still unknown but it has been reported that Manchester United were only willing to sell the Spanish number one to Los Blancos if Ramos was part of the deal, so there may be good news for Red Devils fans on that front.
United have also been linked with Valencia's Nicolas Otamendi and Borussia Dortmund's Matts Hummels and many believe the success of their Premier League title challenge may hinge on the acquisition of a top-class centre-back.
