A fourth member of Ireland's Euro 2012 squad could be on his way to the MLS in the next few months. Wigan have been relegated to League 1 after a rather dire season and James McClean has no intention of sticking around and playing at the third level of English football.
Although Celtic are thought to be interested, the Irish Daily Star are reporting that McClean will fly to America in the next couple of weeks for talks with a number of clubs to join the Irish contingent in the MLS.
Robbie Keane, Sean St Ledger and, soon to be, Kevin Doyle will be playing plying their trade stateside this year and McClean is thought to be keen to join them. Given that the Derry man's €30,000 a week wages are more than a League 1 club can afford, Wigan are happy to allow McClean to leave.
St Ledger's Orlando City and Doyle's Colorado Rapids are thought to be the most likely destinations for the 26 year old. He could conceivably leave in the next week before the US transfer window closes, however, it seems more likely that he will wait until it reopens in July to make a move.
