Manchester United need a strong presence in central midfield. The club know this, the fans know this, my labrador knows this.
The man linked with filling that role and a player many supporters had set their heart on was Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal. The Guardian reported earlier this week that Utd were hoping to push the Chilean's transfer through before the deadline on Monday.

However a tweet from Vidal today seems to have poured some cold water on a possible move.
