Republic of Ireland U21 international and Bournemouth midfielder Gavin Kilkenny scored a sensational hat-trick including a superb lob for the U21s tonight as he continues his rise at the club.
Kilkenny excelled against Basingstoke Town at the Vitality Stadium in a game that finished 8-0.
It comes after he was named man of the match and scored against Lyon in a pre-season friendly last month which prompted manager Eddie Howe to declare a Premier League debut awaits.
He’s going to be there or thereabouts. We don’t have a big squad so he’s going to be close.
I can’t make any promises to him now, but what I can say is that if he continues along the same way that he’s played in pre-season, then he’ll have a very good chance of being involved this season.
Kilkenny recently played for Stephen Kenny's U21s as they scored crucial wins over Armenia and Sweden. On his return to club action, he produced a remarkable showing in Hampshire Senior Cup which included a 45-yard chipped shot.
WHAT. A. STRIKE.
