Former Republic of Ireland striker Andy Keogh has dismissed suggestions Usain Bolt has the ability to make it as a footballer.
The Irishman is currently playing for Perth Glory in the same league as Central Coast Mariners, who Bolt was recently on trial with. The A-League club had opened contract talks with Bolt but stated a deal was unlikely without external commercial third-party assistance.
However, speaking to Off The Ball's Keith Andrews Show, Keogh has poured scorn on the idea and claimed the sprinter has a 'touch like a trampoline.’
"It's nice to have the attention on the A-League but him playing in the A-League, that's not for me. He's 31. For me, he's not going to be able to make it."
"He's shown a bit [of potential] but it's a little bit of a kick in the teeth to the professionals that are in the league."

"It's fine from a marketing point of view but from a football perspective, it's a little bit farcical."
Bolt is no longer training with the club and Keogh feels his footballing ability is not good enough for the league.
"If there's someone who genuinely thinks he'd be a good football addition, I don't think they should be in a position to make those calls."
Again, it is a salary capped league. That means you would have to be giving him money out of our salary cap and is he going to contribute to your squad? He's said he is chasing a dream of being a professional footballer yet he has come out with quotes that he wants X amount. If you are chasing a dream, it is not about the money, it is about the dream. He has obviously contradicted himself massively there.
Keogh has been in superb form since moving down under. The 32-year-old joined in 2014, but departed in 2015 after the club breached their salary cap. However, they were able to free up a spot and he re-signed in 2016.
