When Ireland take to the field against Italy in the Rugby World Cup this Sunday, the first half of Arsenal v Man United will just be drawing to a close. Let's hope, from an Irish perspective, the occasion won't be as bad as the last time the Premier League's used-to-be-great derby was played during a major day in Irish sport.

The date was 28 August 2011 and the day was most memorable because of the fact the the soccer match managed just four less scores than the All-Ireland semi-final of Dublin v Donegal.

While United ran riot in an 8-2 win over Arsenal, the Dubs and Donegal were battling through what would become an infamously dreadful affair.

In case you've somehow forgotten, Dublin won the match 0-8 to 0-6. Lest we for God. So, for the love of God please don't let Ireland v Italy be as bad as that.
