The Daily Mail's Colin Young reports this morning that senior Irish players held clear-the-air talks with Giovanni Trapattoni before training on Saturday morning (no link). The discussion is believed to have been about tactics.
In a post-match interview Friday, a sweaty Richard Dunne was adamant in his frustration with Ireland's tactical approach to the Russia match.

Eamon Dunphy meanwhile pointed the finger at Darren Gibson:
Glenn Whelan seemed resigned about Ireland's approach when talking with the PA:
"It's what the manager sets out and his tactics. Everyone would like to see better football and try and get more passing around the pitch but, if it's not to be and the manager wants something different, then what can you do?"
Shane Long looks likely to start in place of Kevin Doyle, but it's hard to imagine Trap ripping up the script and playing 4-3-3 or 4-5-1.
