Well that was comfortable, wasn't it?
It's a nice feeling for an Ireland rugby fan to watch their side matter-of-factly defeat a South African team, regardless of how weak they may be in comparison to sides of the past, and that is exactly what happened as Joe Schmidt's men walked away 38-3 winners.
The Irish try-line was never in real danger as a superb defensive performance was put in by all 15 starters and the subs came on to make a fantastic impact too.
South Africa were dealt a blow in the very first minutes as they lost Coenie Oosthuizen due to injury, but they will be very disappointed by the amount of mistakes in the backline in particular.
Here's how we rated the Irish players in a match where the damage was done in the first-half before the win was given a lick of paint by ramping up the pressure late on.
15. Rob Kearney - 7
On Friday, Brian O'Driscoll outlined exactly why Joe Schmidt trusts Rob Kearney so much, and then we saw it in action against the Boks. He is just so reliable in the kicking game, and was consistently calm throughout.
14. Andrew Conway - 8
In an outstanding first-half, Conway did a great job of filling the void left by Simon Zebo as he was bright and positive anytime he had the ball in hand. Some questionable kicking did not detract from an otherwise great showing and the try topped it off. One of our best performers.
13. Robbie Henshaw - 8
Another from the backline who was just flawless in defence, Henshaw formed a seriously promising partnership with Bundee Aki and if South Africa were ever going to cause any danger it was never going to come through the middle of the backline.
12. Bundee Aki - 8
Now that he has made his Ireland debut we can forget all the furore over the residency rule and just enjoy what Aki will bring to the table in an Ireland shirt. Solid, if unspectacular, today, he was excellent defensively and gave us a few glimpses as to his excellent eye for a pass. A good start for the Connacht man.
11. Jacob Stockdale - 8
Just what we wanted to see. A home debut where he barely put a foot wrong and it's absolutely clear that the best is yet to come from Stockdale who we will be seeing a lot in the green (or grey) jersey in the coming years. Played a nice role in Ruddock's try and he grew into the game as it went on, capped an impressive performance with a truly great moment by getting a try on his debut.
10. Johnny Sexton - 9
Yes, Johnny.
The Leinster man was a class above as he orchestrated the victory by pinning South Africa back, and he literally ran the show. Named man of the match by RTE, and deservedly so.
9. Conor Murray - 8
Who else in world rugby would you rather see in the Irish #9 shirt? Another match that lived up to Murray's own extremely high standards, he comfortably won the battle with his opposite number and the box kicks were tidy as well.
1. Cian Healy - 7
Provided the comedy moment of the match in the first half by flooring Dillyn Leyds, Healy was grand today.
2. Rory Best - 7
There are some worries regarding Best's advancing years with the World Cup in 2019, but there were no such worries today as Best was his usual, reliable self in all areas of his game.
3. Tadhg Furlong - 7
Strong in the scrum as he always will be, but couldn't help feel like we wanted to see a bit more from Furlong in the loose. Still, he did his main job well.
4. Iain Henderson - 7
A powerful performance by a man who is ridiculously difficult to stop when he gets ahead of steam. Strong in the lineout and the loose, good showing from the Ulster man.
5. Devin Toner - 7
Not much to write home about, but no Ireland player played poorley and Toner ruled the air at lineouts which resulted in the final try.
6. Peter O'Mahony - 7
As solid as ever in defence and at the breakdown, this won't have been big Pete's best game in an Ireland jersey but he also may never have had a bad one.
7. Sean O'Brien - 7
The Leinster man put in another strong showing, always available for an offload and looking to get over the gain-line with carries. The back row is one area where we will not have any problems for the foreseeable future anyway.
8. CJ Stander - 8
You've got to love CJ. One turnover in the first-half saw what looked like all 14 other Irish players come over to aggressively slap him on the back in congratulations, which pretty much summed up his day. So much good work at the breakdown.
Substitutes - 9
What an excellent impact we saw off the bench, as while South Africa simply didn't want to be out there anymore, the Irish subs were playing with a point to prove. The star here was Rhys Ruddock, who got a try and some big turnovers, and Rob Herring managed to get himself on the scoresheet. Joe Schmidt will be delighted with the bench today.
