There were some fantastic Irish performances over the weekend, with some man-of-the-match displays. Aiden O'Brien and Harry Arter were both the standout performers for their sides, while Matt Doherty scored a late winner for Wolves.

Irish Player Ratings
Robbie Brady started on the left of midfield in Burnley's 1-0 win over Brighton, with the Lancashire Telegraph rating him at a 7/10. They also that this was a performance more fitting to the player's talent than what we have seen in recent weeks. Jeff Hendrick started the game on the bench, only seeing five minutes of playing time.
Harry Arter started Cardiff's 1-0 victory over Southampton, and was named as man-of-the-match by Wales Online. They had this to say about his 8/10 performance:
Some quality touches and typically energetic running, which forced Southampton errors. He seemed to be everywhere and was deservedly given a standing ovation from the Bluebirds faithful.
Matt Doherty netted a dramatic late winner for Wolves in their game against Newcastle, securing a 2-1 victory for the visitors. 90mins.com gave him a 7/10 for his performance, as he worked tirelessly in a wing-back role for the entire game. Ciaran Clark played the all 90 minutes for Newcastle, and the Shields Gazette gave him a 7/10 for his performance.
Aston Villa drew 2-2 at West From on Friday evening, with Conor Hourihane reprising his role in central midfield. The Birmingham Mail rated his performance as a 6.5/10, complimenting his abilities in a deep-lying playmaker role.
Alan Browne was the only one of Preston's Ireland contingent to start at the weekend, with Callum Robinson and Sean Maguire ruled out through injury. He was given a a 7/10 by the Lancashire Evening Post for his role in the 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.
James McClean was only deemed worthy of a place on the bench for Stoke's 2-0 win over Ipswich Town, while Alan Judge was in the same situation for Brentford's 3-2 loss at home to Swansea City.
Aiden O'Brien started and scored in Millwall's 2-2 draw at home to Hull, with this very well-taken strike.

Football.London said he was the man-of-the-match (8/10), and had this to say about his performance.
Extremely busy first-half and played a major part in the Gregory's equaliser, wonderfully flicking the ball into Meredith's path. Continued in the second-half and lashed home his first Championship goal since the opening day of the season to make it 2-1
Darren Randolph was back in action after his poor performance last week, with the Teeside Gazette rating him at 6/10 for his role in Middlesbrough's 1-1 draw at home to Blackburn. Derrick Williams started at left back for Blackburn, with the Lancashire Telegraph giving him a 6/10.
Derby County ground out a 1-0 victory at Wigan, with Richard Keogh captaining the side. He impressed as they kept a first clean sheet in 15 games, with the Derbyshire Telegraph giving him a 7.5/10.
Richie Towell scored in Rotherham's 2-2 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, continuing his strong recent run of form.
John Egan put in yet another excellent performance in Sheffield United's 2-0 away win over Reading. The Star rated him at 7/10, and said this about his performance:
Was required to make a series of early clearances as Reading made a surprisingly bright start given recent events at the club. As always, went about his busy with the minimum of fuss. Solid, steady and reliable at the heart of defence.
Enda Stevens and David McGoldrick also started that game, were both given 7/10 ratings. McGoldrick has been in fantastic form this season, and it would not be at all surprising to see him brought back into the Ireland fold in the new year.
Finally, Ronan Curtis was the man-of-the-match in Portsmouth's 2-0 win over Southend. The Portsmouth News said he was at his 'scintillating best', giving him an astounding 9/10.
