We can all remember the Ireland game against Austria in November last year. We went with hope and belief in Martin O'Neill that he could lead the Boys in Green to the top of the World Cup qualifying group. Everyone said their prayers to Jon Walters.
Up popped James McClean to finish off what was unarguably the greatest goal in football history. Ireland won, topped the group heading into 2017 and everyone was happy.
Especially the pub and nightclub owners of Vienna. We know that the Irish love to party regardless of results. And we know that there's a fair few pints drunk to calm the nerves.
How do we know this? Because we were sent a video by one of the staff from Charlie P's bar in Vienna. It's a known hotspot for Irish football fans and this was proved once again in November.
The tramlines of the Austrian capitals will never see the like again. Until we get drawn against them in a few years. You can check out the full video from Charlie P's below.
The average temperature in Austria in November is about three degrees. Aka, not t-shirt weather. So that Irish man is either very hard, or very very drunk. Or both. Hard to tell.
We saw how fantastic the Irish fans were at Euro 2016, with nuns, babies, horses and Shane Long being flammable. This just capped off a brilliant 2016 for the supporters on this island.
We doubt that Copper Face Jacks or Doyle's will make a similar video when the Welsh visit these shores in March of this year. Don't be surprised however, if bartenders and traindrivers in Belgrade are already planning special deals.
