Belgium attacker Kevin De Bruyne was stretchered off with a nasty looking knee injury in the cup semi-final against Everton this evening.
Irish fans reacted with one eye on the summer...
Kevin de Bruyne stretchered off with what look's like at least six month's worth of knack. #myexpertmedicalopinion

Not to be unkind but the top end cruciate injury can take 9 months to recover from, right? RIGHT? #DeBruyne

That should teach De Bruyne not to exaggerate a tackle #MCFCvEFC

Could be a big moment for Belgium's Euro 2016 chances with De Bruyne getting stretchered off

Having said all that, Manuel Pellegrini's update after the game suggested that all the schadenfreude may have been for nothing with initial expectations that the Belgian maestro wouldn't miss the rest of the season after all.
I'm optimistic he won't be out for the rest of the season. We'll see how important the damage is. It's not the cruciate ligament. The doctor thinks, but he cannot be sure, that it's a problem in his medial ligament.
Time to get out those Zlatan voodoo dolls.
