In advance of Wednesday’s massive game against England at Wembley, which is being shown live on Setanta Ireland, we are starting the build up, bringing you back to that infamous night and plotting the key story lines that makes May 29th, one of the biggest nights of the sporting calendar.
Around the country before tomorrow night's friendly against England, people are going to sit down to their game consoles and play out the game in virtual form. This isn't just a modern phenomena.
People were doing it back in 1995 too. Obviously it wasn't on something as sophisticated as an XBOX 360 or PS3, it was more likely to be a Super Nintendo or a Mega Drive.
So to relive what it was like back on February 15th, 1995, we dug out the Megadrive here at Balls HQ downloaded an emulator from the internet and bashed that controller laptop keyboard.
The makers of FIFA 95 were certainly good to Ireland in their judgement of our team's abilities in comparison to England.
One of the best things about FIFA 95 was the ability to turn off fouls and injuries. This meant last ditch tackles to send strikers sprawling as they were about to score and pushing defenders out of the way as they attempted to make a clearance.
Check out how the game went below.
