Meeting in Tallaght this evening, both the Republic and Northern Ireland know that the game will have no say in qualifying for the 2019 World Cup.
Unfortunately for both sides, their hopes of reaching next summer's major tournament have already passed.
Far from a dead-rubber, however, Colin Bell's Republic of Ireland side appear determined to make the most of their closing group game.
Racing to a 3-0 lead within the opening half-hour, the Republic of Ireland arguably should have had a one player advantage also.
Already one goal to the good, Tyler Toland was the victim of a horrendous challenge from Northern Ireland's Kerry Montgomery.
What could have caused a whole deal of trouble for Toland, she somehow managed to get back up and play on. How Montgomery was so fortunate beggars belief.
You can watch below, but not one for the squeamish.
'That's a horrific challenge' - Northern Ireland's Kerry Montgomery lucky not to be sent off for dangerous foul on Republic of Ireland's Tyler Toland.
