Ireland's Euro 2020 playoff against Slovakia is now likely to be played in October.
The game was originally scheduled for March 26th but was subsequently postponed until June. Earlier this month, it was again postponed, this time with no definite date set.
FAI interim CEO Gary Owens attended a UEFA video conference meeting on Tuesday where a timeframe for the playoffs was set out.
"There has been a slight move on that," Owens told FAI TV.
"Originally, we thought it may well be November but it now looks like the semi-final is the preferred option in October.
"They don’t want to have the semi-final and the final of the playoffs in the one month. It looks like the Nations League matches will be in September and October with the semi-final playoff in October and the final playoff in November."
By the time of the game against Slovakia, Ireland could have as many as five games played under new manager Stephen Kenny.
