Praise the Lord, Ireland are moving up the FIFA World Rankings, today reaching the heady heights of 61st place. That's a climb of one place in the wake of our draw with Germany.
While drawing away to the world champions may be seen as somewhat of a decent result it is of course not something which would warrant us moving ahead of the likes of Guinea, Panama, Congo DR or the Cape Verde Islands.
Unfortunately our 7-0 win over Gibraltar counted for nothing as they're not ranked.
Let's hear it for Northern Ireland though, who have moved up 28 places to 43rd. Elsewhere, England have dropped to 20th while our group rivals Poland are 44th and Scotland are 37th.
