While many Brighton fans will be concerned about the welfare of their most recent big money signing after last night's Carabao Cup victory over Crawley Town, the injury to Matt O'Riley did offer the opportunity for Irishman Mark O'Mahony to score his first first goal for the club at the Amex.
Having only signed from Celtic earlier this week, O'Riley would be forced off just a few minutes into his debut for the club after a heavy tackle from an opposition player. He would be replaced by O'Mahony after just nine minutes.
The Cork man would go on to produce an excellent performance, capped off by scoring the team's fourth goal of the night.
You can watch the strike from 2:45 in the clip below.
Excellent forward play.
This no doubt would have been a special occasion for Mark O'Mahony, although he does not have too much time to reflect on it ahead after it was reported that he is now set to leave Brighton on loan.

Irish Striker Tops Off Madcap 24 Hours By Making Championship Move
Mark O'Mahony made three Premier League appearances for Brighton towards the end of last season, including one start. That was his first taste of senior football, although the 19-year old is set to get a lot more playing time over the coming months.
Footy Insider are reporting that O'Mahony is set to join Portsmouth on loan for the season, making his way to Fratton Park this morning in order to complete the move. It would cap off what has been a whirlwind 24 hours for the player having scored his first goal in senior football last night.
Portsmouth earned promotion from League One last season, returning to the second tier of English football for the first time since 2012. They have drawn each of their opening three Championship fixtures this season and will hope that the signing of O'Mahony can bolster their chances of staying in the division.
Brighton are sure to have sought assurances over the striker's playing time before sanctioning the move, with the teenager a highly rated player at the club.
O'Mahony has earned one cap for Ireland at U21 level and will be hoping to make his mark at that level over the coming months. Should he immediately impress in the Championship, a senior call-up may not be too far away.
