Cast your mind back to 1994. The Celtic Tiger was just getting going, mobile phones were the size of a small child and Jack Charlton was leading the Republic of Ireland to their second straight World Cup.
After the heroics of Italia '90, hopes were high for Ireland as they left for USA and the boys in green once again impressed on the world stage. Not only were Ireland at the '94 World Cup, but European giants like England and France were both left watching from home.
Ireland fans thought they were dreaming as Ray Houghton chipped the ball into the Italian net in Ireland's opening game of the tournament to give us our first ever World Cup win and hand Italy their only defeat over 90 minutes in the entire competition - including in the final against Brazil.
A draw and a defeat in Ireland's two subsequent games left Jack Charlton's men with four points - along with the three other teams in Group E. This was the first - and only - time all four teams in a World Cup group finished level on points.
Not only that, but all four teams had a goal difference of zero, as Ireland advanced through to the knockout rounds in second place by virtue of goals scored - just like they had in qualifying for the '94 World Cup itself.
Unfortunately, that's where the story ended as Ireland were dumped out of the tournament at the last 16, with no repeat of 1990's heroic penalty shootout victory over Romania this time around but history had already been made in the win over Italy.
It was another magical chapter in the history of Irish sports, so how well do you actually remember Ireland's trip to the States in the summer of '94? Find out by taking our quiz below.
