Here at Balls Towers, adjusting to life post-Euro 2012 has been pretty darn tough. We miss checking the Poznan webcam every hour on the hour. We miss searching 'John Delaney locked' on Twitter. We miss waking up with a 'Team of Gary Breen's' in our head. Thankfully, though, there's still a slow trickle of interesting video content being uploaded to Youtube. In the last 24 hours, we've been introduced to one of our favourtie Euro 2012 characters, a guy from Douglas GAA club named Philip Shine.
Among the things I've learned about Mr Shine is that he enjoys a song. Here's a pretty surreal video of him with some mates on a train between Poznan, Sopot and Gdansk. Travelling with a guy with the words 'Tough Cunt' written on his chest, Shine sticks his head out the window, risking life and limb, to record a version of himself singing a verse of 'The Auld Triangle'
Here's Shine's report from the Carlsberg fancamp on the news that his mate Dick Barrett has hit the wall and is in bed for the morning.
Finally and most profuondly, Shine found himself a couple hundred feet from the Ireland team's hotel in Sopot around 6am on the morning after the Italy match. He decided to unleash one of the saddest versions of 'The Fields of Athenry' we'd hear from Poznan.
