Inter Milan paid an emotional tribute to departing club legend "Il Capitano" Javier Zanetti during last night's 4-1 win at home to Lazio. The Argentinean's career doesn't officially end until next week's game away at Cheivo but last night marked his final appearance at the San Siro.
Inter manager Walter Mazzari started Zanetti on the bench and he emerged to a rapturous reception in the 52nd minute. Zanetti marked the occasion by wearing a special armband that contained all the names of his teammates during his 19 years at Inter:

On the way into the San Siro last night, a billboard summed up not only Inter Milan's feelings but it can be safely said, anyone who's had the pleasure of watching Zanetti all this time.

Farewell then, you with the chiseled jaw, the armband, the marauding runs, the impeccable professionalism and the haircut you could set your watch to.
