Inter have announced the signing of an Argentinian wunderkind and enthusiastic young go-getter with plenty of European experience who will breathe fresh life into their squad. Javier Zanetti has just accepted a year long extension to his current contract. is currently recovering from an operation he underwent on a ruptured Achilles in April and looks set to return to action in October at the earliest. He celebrates his fortieth birthday in August.
While Ryan Giggs has adapted with age to play a less physically demanding role in central midfield, Zanetti continues to play with all of the vigour and boundless enthusiasm of a cocker spaniel on amphetamines.
