Earlier this season, reports claimed that Jurgen Klopp was optimistic about the future at Liverpool, as he believes that the current era of dominance by Spain's Big Two and Bayern Munich was coming to an end. While Bayern are offering a pretty strong rebuttal against Arsenal at the moment, he may have had a point with the other two. Barcelona endured a night of unparalleled shame in the Messi era in Paris last night, and now it is the turn of Real Madrid to run into difficulty.
Napoli have taken the lead at the Bernabeu, and it hasn't come through any ordinary type of goal.
But to say that this is poor by Real is to do a great disservice to Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne. This is Insigne's ninth of the season, and it might just be his best. We've never quite seen a goal like this, although perhaps Keylor Navas will wince when reviewing the tapes. But then again, fair play to Insigne for being aware enough to profit from such goalkeeping profligacy.
Have a look, it's....outrageous.
Insigne Goal
Here it is from a few different angles...
Insigne Goal - Alternate Angles
Madrid have since equalised through Karim Benzema. A priceless away goal for Napoli, mind.
