There have been some incredible scenes at this evening's Copa del Rey quarter-final 2nd leg between Racing Santander and Real Sociedad.
The game was abandoned after Racing Santander players refused to play the game due to not being paid by the club for months. The players issued a statement on Monday saying that they would boycott the game unless the club's President and board resigned by kickoff time.
Here's an account of the proceedings by Irish Spanish football correspondent, Dermot Corrigan.
Game kicks off, Racing players gather in centre circle. Ref asks them if they're gonna play. Told no. It's over. No game.

Ref says fine and calls for ball. Real Soc players hug the Racing players. Fans applaud, players go to applaud fans. Pretty mental scenes.

Racing players final huddle in middle of pitch with coach, then walk off. Fans signing and waving scarves in support.
