There's no prouder man in Ireland tonight than Ed Randolph.

For Ed, this evening served up one of the all-time great parenting conundrums - what do you do when two of your kids are playing matches at the same time, in different places? Whose game do you choose to attend? Ed Randolph faced this conundrum in a REALLY bad way tonight. His son Neil was leading out defending champs Templeogue against Moycullen in the Super League in basketball tonight in Oblate Hall. Meanwhile, over in Copenhagen, his son Darren was tasked with the small matter of playing goals for Ireland in the playoff against Denmark, with all of Ireland dreaming about a trip to the World Cup.

Whose game do you choose to attend?

Neil chose to stay in Ireland to watch his son play for Templeogue. He won't be disappointed. Neil dropped 16 points on Moycullen as Templogue won.

Meanwhile, over in Copenhagen, Darren famously kept Ireland in the tie, with a commanding Man of the Match performance in goals.

Ed Randolph must be an enormously proud man this evening. We admire his resourcefulness in coping with this situation- he told Basketball Ireland after the game that he watched the football match on his phone from courtside.

Thank god for technology because I was able to watch Sky Go and look at the match and look at Neil. I can honestly say that being able to look at my sons play is the ultimate in my life now.

Ed says there's plans for the whole family to sit down and have a meal tomorrow. The mood will be celebratory and hopefully there'll be more celebrating Tuesday evening.
