The Icelandic Commentary For Sergi Roberto's Goal Was Typically Outstanding

We learned a lot about Iceland at Euro 2016, but more than anything else we learned that they have one of the most passionate commentators in the world talking the public through live matches.

Gudmundur Benediktsson is the name of the man that went viral to his series of incredible moments in the commentary booth as Iceland went about their incredible Euro 2016 journey, but wouldn't you know he was assigned a relatively boring second leg of a Champions League tie that had already been decided on Wednesday night.

As Barcelona managed to secure the most unlikely of comebacks, the main man Gudmundur was on duty for Icelandic TV and, despite the fact that Gylfi Sigurdsson and Birkir Bjarnason were nowhere to be seen, he well and truly lost it when the winning goal was prodded home by Sergi Roberto.

Clearly the man just loves a good football story.

We missed those whooping tones and shrieks of excitement, it reminds us of last summer.

Benediktsson had many highlights over the course of the tournament, but none were as enjoyable as his emotional speech after Iceland knocked England out in the last 16.

He's some man.

It's a shame we don't see more from him, although perhaps that's what makes these moments as enjoyable as they are.
